Are you an organizer hungry for new skills and a chance to advance your campaign leadership? Or are you looking for a chance to play a volunteer leadership role in a Democratic campaign in the United States or on a progressive campaign in Canada?

Camp Progress Plus +

Camp Progress Plus + advances the Broadbent Institute’s commitment to developing a new generation of leaders by recruiting, training and mentoring a cohort of emerging progressive leaders. This hands-on, intensive training opportunity for Canadian campaigners, organizers, and activists includes a five-day intensive training retreat to learn from architects of the 2008 and 2012 Obama presidential campaigns through the Broadbent Institute’s partnership with 270 Strategies. We’re looking for organizers who will soak up the experience, dive into the work head-first, and embrace the collision of ideas and best practices learned on the campaign trail as an opportunity for learning and innovation. If that sounds like you, fill out the online application by July 22, 2016, to be considered for this opportunity.

During the five-day intensive training retreat, you'll learn how to recruit, empower, and mobilize volunteers; use organizing tactics online and offline to move people to action; design grassroots events to earn media; and develop foundational data and analytics skills to ensure your voters come to the polls on election day. After the five-day training retreat, you will have the opportunity to spend five weeks practicing your campaign and organizing skills in a volunteer leadership role on U.S. Democratic campaign or a progressive campaign in Canada. The Broadbent Institute will identify a campaign immersion placement that makes sense for you.

The Broadbent Institute is able to cover a significant portion of the costs for this innovative program. Program subsidies are available for a limited number of participants. For more details about program costs, see below.

All participants will also be able to participate, at no additional cost, in three webinars led by 270 Strategies in fall 2016 on grassroots organizing. Value: $100.

The applications process is now closed.
